The NEXT Medical Device Innovation Center of the National Cancer Center Hospital East was chosen for the FY 2023 Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) Support Program on Collaborative Innovation Networks for Medical Device (under the title, ” Establishment of an ecosystem hub to realize the global deployment of medical devices revolutionizing global healthcare”).

The major goals of this project include the development of medical device entrepreneurs, side-by-side project support, and support for the international expansion of startups. The project will also focus on community building among medical device development human resources to support ecosystem development and on communicating information on these initiatives and results.

The NEXT Medical Device Innovation Center is equipped with advanced facilities that include simulated operating rooms and animal testing laboratories, and has expert personnel in regulatory affairs and intellectual property. , and other fields. The Center also aims to provide comprehensive side-by-side support based on the knowledge gained in the FY 2019 Next Generation Medical Devices Collaboration Facility Development Project, while leveraging to the utmost its advantages and distinguishing features as a high-volume cancer treatment center.
